The workshops are an educational model that was used from the very early stages for the persons with learning disabilities or with Psychiatric Disturbances.
Through the workshops was sought the "work-therapy", that is to say treatment - confrontation of undesirable behaviors via means of work and bodily lassitude that this involves, for this and the first laboratories was Carpenter's workshops, laboratories of Clay etc.
Then it appearred that the profits in the individual were more and that the members of laboratories also profited in other levels:
- Improvement of self-respect, after the individual feels productive and useful.
- Socialization and aid of common spirit and synergy of members.
- Growth - creation of interpersonal relations.
- Economic profit from the sale of produced products.
Today in ARGO there are two Protected Laboratories, the CARPENTER'S WORKSHOP and the MAGIC PIPE of (general craftsmanship), in which work in total 15 young persons with Medium and Lightly learning delay with the support of 4 instructors.
At period 1999 - 2001, were materialised two programs of Training AmeA in the frames of B KPS and Operational Program "Social Exclusion from the Work" and action group HORIZON.
Both laboratories are active now in the production of utilitarian objects which is sold in bazar's and fairs, while also their effort of promotion and sales in the local shops. The income is distributed monthly in educated as educational wage aiming at the young persons:
- acquire motivation and a decreased loss of interest and reduced feelings of institutionalisation
- the personal maturing after the members feel and are interacted with as workers
- the acquisition of labour skills and basic labour behavior
Our future concern is the increase of productivity of laboratories and the more frequent supply of products to shops of region. Also the promotion in the free job market of the students and their skills, the students having been given the self esteem to realise their potential within the work force.
